HUFFING LYSOL
By Aviva Zimmerman
To be presented at the upcoming Toronto Fringe Festival.
Question: What do you get when you combine infomercial hosts, third world children, racist housewives, and cheerleaders?
Answer: Huffing Lysol, a hyper-reality pop-culture sideshow. The bedazzling new work is an over the top side show that takes a satirical look at the world of TV culture.
Through a plethora of raunchy and rowdy characters, video, dance, and song, Huffing Lysol presents the chaos that bombards us on a daily basis. More captivating than a two headed Olsen twin, this play promises to be a “punch in the face” to the apathetic viewer. And, watching it helps you lose weight, acquire friends, and gain insight into a successful love life!

On Thursday, June 29, 2006, at midnight, a cast of rowdy characters will invade Butterfield Park, beneath the ‘giant domino on sticks’ of the Ontario College of Art and Design, to perform a new and innovative theatrical work, organized by recent Ryerson Theatre School graduate, Aviva Zimmerman.
The cast of the upcoming Toronto Fringe Festival production of Huffing Lysol will be joined by numerous other performers to display an array of new theatrical works to entertain and educate.
Using skits, dance, song, and barbies, the event promises to be entertaining, free, unsanctioned, and offensive to some viewers.

3. To maintain a commitment to social justice and community development.
In a country where theatre is a “dying whale” we feel it is important to create the kind of theatre which is interesting to watch and take part in. Engaging the audience’s senses and minds is the most important thing.
